689 | The death of James Young, Esq., of Munson, occurred Thursday, may17th, 1894. Mr. Young was born in Arbooth, Scotland, in 1819. Hebecame a member of the Prebyterian church of Scotland in 1847. In1849 he came to America and located in Bureau county. In 1854 heremoved to Henry county where he has since resided. His death at theage of 75 years tells something of his vigor and strength. As a manMr. Young was noted for his sterling integrity, industry and thrift.He was plain in all his tactics and habits. Since 1882 he has beendeprived of his sight. Still his business has been managed withprudence. His list of warm friends and admirers is as extensive asacquaintance. All knew him to trust him. He leaves a wife and sixchildren to mourn his loss. The sons and daughters were as follows:Mrs. Jane sommers, deceased; Jas. Young, Sedgwick, Kan.; Mrs. MaryRuxton, Hardin county, Ia.; Jno. Young, Nelson, Neb.; Mrs. MaggieSoners, Grundy Centre, Ia.; Wm. Young, Munson; Charles Young, deceasedin infancy, and Mrs. Anna Enzie, Munson. The funeral was from thelate residence in Munson and was conducted by Rev. N. W. Thounton,assisted by Rev. J. M. Linn, Sterm Lake, Ia. All the members of thefamily were present.
