DeVrieze, 83, of Newton, N.C., formerlyofKewanee, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, in Newton. Born July 29, 1913, in Maldegem, Belgium, to Julius and AugustaDeLilleDeSmet, she married R. Joe DeVrieze in 1932 in Kewanee. He diedin 1972.She also was preceded in death by one grandson and onebrother. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Young of GlandBlanc,Mich., and Mrs. Lynn (Joyce) Waller of Hickory, N.C.;threegrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A clerk in central supply at Kewanee Hospital for 20 years, sheretiredin 1983. She graduated from Kewanee Business College. Memorial services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary'sCatholicChurch. The Rev. Duane Jack will officiate. There will be novisitation.Private burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. RuxFuneral Home inKewanee is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
